Role Overview
The Website & Database Administrator will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and improving our digital platforms (customer websites and database systems). The role includes monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, managing updates, and ensuring a smooth and secure user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Website Administration
Manage and maintain websites and web applications
Monitor website performance, uptime, and security
Perform updates, backups, and routine maintenance
Troubleshoot website issues and technical problems
Manage hosting, domains, SSL certificates, and DNS settings
Support website improvements and content updates
Optimise website performance and SEO
Database Administrator
Maintain and monitor company databases
Perform backups, recovery, and performance optimisation
Ensure data integrity, security, and system reliability
Troubleshoot database-related issues and support integrations
Security & Support
Maintain website and database security standards
Support GDPR and data protection compliance
Work with internal teams and external providers to support business systems
Recommend improvements to systems and processes
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience in website administration and database management
Strong knowledge of website hosting, DNS, SSL, and server environments
Experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress or similar systems
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and basic web development principles
Experience with database technologies such as MySQL, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL
Understanding of website security, backups, and performance optimisation
Familiarity with cloud hosting platforms and deployment processes
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Good understanding of SEO and website analytics tools
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
Desirable Skills
Experience with DevOps or cloud technologies
Knowledge of cPanel, Plesk, or server administration
Experience with API integrations and automation
Familiarity with Git/version control systems
Experience working in Agile or project-based environments
